Meaningful Mondays-Jewelry Intention
Share
There's meaning to all that we do. I wonder, in a grander scale, what is the purpose to the jewelry trinkets and accessories that we decide to wear and bring with us on our day to day?
Is it because it's in style? Is it an heirloom? Is it a gift or promise? Does it hold memories you want to take with you? The reasons to why we love and wear our jewelry are all beautiful and that is why jewelry is so sacred to me. They're specific and special keepsakes we keep close to us for reminders, warmth, love, protection.
For as long as I can remember, I've always loved ''las gangarias'' as Cuban slang would call jewelry. Whenever I go into a retail store, the first spot my eyes spot is the jewelry/accessory section. I must not leave without checking that part out.
When I worked in crystal stores, I always ALWAYS loved seeing the crystal jewelry that we'd have in the store, I'd spent a lot of time trying them out and seeing what looked well and matched. Though, I always had trouble finding bracelets that fit me. I have small wrists and personally don't like the look of them hanging off. I'd daydream about creating my own one day, just for funsies, despite not believing I had a SINGLE creative bone in my body, at the time.
When I finally began making jewelry myself, I wanted to make sure every piece fit correctly, beautifully, and that that every piece, bead, and part felt aligned and connected to one another. I, personally, after creating a piece for myself or whenever I cleanse the jewelry I have, I do this little ritual--I cup them into my hands, take a deep breath, and set an intention for them. Whether I want spiritual and energetic protection, abundance or to pour more self-love into myself and my life, every jewelry piece of mine has its meaning and energy to it.
I deeply feel that our jewelry can serve as talismans and wearing them every day brings a certain energy to them, it's almost as if they are an extension of us.
